Sutter Delta is east Contra Costa County’s convenient and affordable solution for many inpatient, outpatient and emergency medical needs.
It is our mission to enhance the well-being of the people in the communities we serve through a not-for-profit commitment to compassion and excellence in health care services.
Employees
With more than 600 employees, Sutter Delta is one of the area’s largest employers. We also have a volunteer staff made up of dedicated, active community members.
Staff
Our medical staff proudly numbers more than 200 physicians. Most physicians are board certified and have advanced training in their individual specialties.
Sutter Delta's History
Our beginning
- In the 1960s, a dedicated group of physicians, community leaders and Antioch Community Hospital employees raised more than $650,000.00 to build a new 53-bed facility they named Delta Memorial Hospital.
- Delta Memorial Hospital opened in February 1967.
More recent developments
- In 1989, Delta Memorial Hospital doubled its capacity to 111 beds and added a nursing tower, lobby, cafeteria and an adjoining medical office building.
- One year later, the hospital affiliated with Sutter Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in California.
- In 1996, Delta Memorial Hospital changed its name to Sutter Delta Medical Center to reflect the new affiliation and expanded capacity and services.
